Nursing Services

Nursing staff are proud to provide professional care to the residents of Saint Luke’s long-term care facility.  Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) work closely with other health care professionals to ensure all residents receive the highest possible standard of care while truly making Saint Luke’s their “home.”

The long-term care home consists of five units, one of which is a secure dementia care unit for residents who may experience challenging behaviors. Additionally, Saint Luke’s has a designated respite room that members of the community may avail of upon request, as well as an Angel Care room for residents who require palliative, end-of-life care. In total, up to 118 residents may reside at Saint Luke’s at any given time.

Families and residents are encouraged to take part in care planning. This can take place formally by attending a Resident Care Conference or, informally, by providing in-the-moment feedback to the unit RN.  Resident Care Conferences are scheduled approximately eight weeks after admission or upon request, and offer an opportunity for residents, families and the care team to review and revise the plan of care to best meet the resident’s needs. Residents and families can provide input regarding the plan of care at any time.

Nursing staff and/or nurse managers will gladly meet with residents or family members to address any issue of concern.
