Many family pets1 are permitted to visit residents in our long-term care home provided the animals are healthy, clean and have vaccinations up to date. Pets should be on a leash or in a carrier as some people may be nervous around animals.
1 Reptiles, amphibians, farm animals, monkeys and caged birds are not permitted for visits. In addition, there is an infection control and prevention policy for pet visits that must be followed. Please check with Resident Care Manager prior to bringing in a pet to ensure there are no staff or resident allergies or any infection control concerns.
