Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy services are directed towards improving and maintaining functional independence, preventing and managing physical impairments and promoting fitness, health and wellness.  Working collaboratively with the resident, family and care team, the primary goal is to enhance the resident’s quality of life by achieving the highest possible level of mobility and functional independence.

Saint Luke’s physiotherapist is responsible for assessing residents upon referral, developing individualized physiotherapy programs, prescribing adaptive equipment and/or or referring to other services. The physiotherapy support worker, under the direction of the physiotherapist, carries out the day-to-day implementation of the programs.  Referrals to physiotherapy are accepted from residents, families or any healthcare provider.
